

Connestee Falls Natural Resources Stewardship
NRSC Chartered Responsibilities and Duties

Identify and prepare statements of the community’s natural resources objectives, policies, and conflicts.

Seek partners within the regional conservation, academic, and consulting community, including Connestee Falls members, to assist in completing a baseline resource inventory and assessment (NRI) of Connestee Falls’ natural communities, wildlife populations, as well as identification of natural resource threats, habitat restoration opportunities and safety hazards.​

Utilize the findings of the baseline resource inventory and assessment to prepare a Stewardship Plan (NRSP), a “living document” which will guide integrated long-term management and monitoring of the community’s natural resources.

Assist the Board in the identification of critical natural resource issues and stewardship strategies.

Develop an educational program for community members to improve the understanding and appreciation of our natural resources and to cultivate community involvement in Committee initiatives.​

Coordinate its efforts with all key committees and clubs whose work impacts or is impacted by the efforts of the Committee.​

Update the Stewardship Plan biennially or at the Board’s direction to assess stewardship successes and reevaluate needs.
