Connestee Falls Natural Resources Stewardship
Education and Outreach Priorities
The NRSC realizes the importance of public awareness in stewardship activities and will continue to organize education and outreach programs and events that focus on the following three key goals.

Self Guided
Nature Challenges
-
Keep Wildlife Wild-Promote the long-term health and sustainability of Connestee's wildlife. Minimize wildlife habituation (acclimation of wild animals to human behavior) to reduce the frequency of close and/or potentially harmful human-wildlife encounters and ensure the health of wildlife populations.
-
Protect Water Resources– Promote the health of Connestee's akes and streams. Maintain or improve lake and stream water quality to provide native wildlife habitat and safe recreation for residents.
-
Protect Natural Habitats–Promote the health of Connestee's diverse forest habitats. Balance the need to protect the health and sustainability of the natural communities with the need for community growth.
The more we each know about this amazing place that we call home, the more effective we’ll be in ensuring its long-term health and sustainability.

Protecting wildlife means keeping wildlife wild. Intentionally feeding wild animals puts humans and animals health and safety at risk.

All of the water in our lakes comes from headwater springs and streams that originate within CF boundaries along with area seasonal rainfall.

There are six different types of forests in CF that support hundreds of species of flora (plants) and fauna (animals).
