Volunteer Opportunities
The NRSC is seeking volunteers to assist with our education and outreach publications, programs and other stewardship activities.

Natural Resource Articles- The NRSC publishes a short "Did you know...article for the weekly CF Friday Flyer. An article is typically two to three short paragraphs that help to educate, entertain, inform or persuade residents on a topic related to the natural resources of our community. If you like to research and write, longer articles there is also an opportunity to do so for the monthly CF e-news.
Trail Ambassadors- Do you love the CF trail system? The NRSC is seeking hikers to reach out as as trail greeters. You can choose your favorite trail and while hiking, help promote proper trail etiquette and “Leave No Trace” practices. You can also point out your favorite areas or features and alert hikers to potential hazards on the trail.

Nature Challenges- The NRSC seeks volunteers to help develop additional self directed Nature Challenges that focus on the wildlife and habitats of the NC Mountains. The NRSC also seeks volunteers to design an outdoor learning center to help CF residents and their guests of all ages better understand, appreciate, and protect our natural resources.

Invasive Species Mitigation- The NRSC also needs volunteers who are willing to assist with mitigating invasive plants located at trail heads, along the trails and roadways of other POA natural areas.
